Woolfolk leads Pirates to 56-40 win over Centenary

GEORGETOWN, Texas – Cecily Woolfolk posted her fifth double-double of the season to lead Southwestern (11-13, 7-6) to a 56-40 win over Centenary (8-16, 5-8) Saturday evening.

The game was tied 15-15 after the first quarter as Southwestern was held to just six field goals with no three-pointers. Centenary had a slight two point advantage at halftime, 26-24, as the Ladies got ten points from Savanah Doty.

The Pirates turned up the pressure defensively and held Centenary to single digits in the final two frames while scoring 16 points each quarter. The Ladies managed just five points and two field goals in the final 10 minutes.

Woolfolk led all scorers with 14 points and 12 boards. Madison Edwards and Noel Pratts added ten points each in the win.

Southwestern remains in third place in the SCAC with the win and remain at home to close out the regular season on Friday evening against Texas Lutheran. Game time is set for 7:30 pm.
