The Pirates held a nine point advantage at the break but McMurry continued to chip away at the lead as they pulled within six points with 4:22 to play in the third. McM hit the final basket of the third to pull within five heading into the final frame. The War Hawks took the lead with 2:47 to go in the game on a pair of free throws by Sham Hunter. Erin Toro answered with a jumper and Woolfolk followed to put SU on top again, giving them a lead they would not lose again.

The Pirates move to 4-6 on the year and return to action on January 2nd at the University of Texas Dallas.
