SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Southwestern trailed by just three points at the end of the first quarter but Trinity embarked on a 16-3 run to open the second quarter and built a lead the Pirates couldn't overcome, falling 90-64 Friday evening.
The Pirates shot well from the field, 45%, but earned just seven points from the free throw line.
Tori Carraway led with a double-double, posting 18 points and 11 rebounds. Cecily Woolfolk added 22 points and Kelsey Faykus grabbed seven boards.
The loss drops SU to 8-13 overall and 5-5 in the SCAC. They next take on Schreiner University in Kerrville on Saturday evening.
