THE GAME

Southwestern and UT Tyler meet for the first time this season and the third time in the history of the two programs. The first meeting came in 1977-78 season with UTT winning 87-60 and the second match-up was won by Southwestern 68-67 in 2007-08.

SU and UTT have played nine similar opponents this season. UTT has a 14-2 record against those opponents while Southwestern sits at 6-7.

#2 Jordan Owens (SR | F | 6-1 | Richardson, Texas | Berkner HS)

The SCAC Tournament MVP is averaging 17.1 points per game while shooting 43.4% from the floor and 81.7% from the free throw line.  

#4 Annie Bourne (SR | F | 6-0 | Dallas, Texas | Bishop Lynch HS)

Bourne, the SCAC Defensive Player of the Year, will be a huge challenge for the Patriots averaging 12.8 rebounds per game. Not just a defensive powerhouse, Bourne averages 11.5 points per game and shots 50% from the field. 

#22 Valerie Logan (SR | G | 5-3 | Kingwood, Texas | Kingwood HS)

Logan runs the show from the point position and easily handles the most aggressive defenses. She averages 4.7 assists per game but can also be a deadly offensive threat, shooting 38.5% form the floor and 32.2% from three point range.   

UT Tyler

#43 Brittany King (SR | P | 6-0 | Fort Bend, Texas | Clements HS)

King averages 15.1 points per game and shoot a blazing 59.1 percent from the field. She is also the team's leading rebounder at 9.2 per game and has 21 blocks on the season.

#12 Jasmin Baskin (SR | G | 5-5 | Copperas Cove, Texas | Cisco College) 

Baskin is the Patriots best deep threat, shooting 40.6% from three point range this season. She averages 10.8 points per game  and has 69 threes on the season

#10 Michelle Obach (SO | G | 5-3 | Tyler, Texas | Merrimack College)

Obach is a solid all-around player for UTT, shooting 47.1% from the field and 37.4% from three point range while averaging 10.5 points per game. She is leading the team in assists with 113 on the year and 66 steals.
