Five Pirates Hit Double-Figures in Win

IRVING, Texas - Southwestern women's basketball rolled to a 90-61 win over the University of Dallas on Sunday afternoon to improve to 14-5 on the year and 8-1 in the SCAC. UD falls to 7-11 overall and 2-8.

Two runs, one early in the first half and one late, allowed the Pirates to pull ahead and take a commanding 24 point lead, 47-23, into halftime, thanks to Chelsea Leeder's last second three-pointer.

Southwestern opened up the second half in a similar fashion and quickly pushed their lead to 20, 60-30, with 16:15 remaining on the clock. The University of Dallas never got closer than 23 points the rest of the way and SU continued to exert their dominance throughout the remainder of the game.

Valerie Logan had a career night to lead Southwestern in scoring with 18 points, going 6-10 from the field and 6-9 from three point range. Leeder added in 16, Madison Eschle 14, Jordan Owens 12 and Audrey Garcia 11. Annie Bourne led all rebounders with nine boards while Katelyn Bartell pulled down seven. UD's Kylie Yoshimura led all scorers with 19 points.

Southwestern shot nearly 50% from the floor in the win and out-rebounded the Crusaders 46-32.

The Pirates return home this weekend for the final round of conference game, facing Centenary College on Friday night at 6 p.m.
