Leeder Named to SCAC All-Tournament Team

GEORGETOWN, Texas – Chelsea Leeder, a sophomore guard from Nacogdoches, Texas, was named to the 2012 SCAC All-Tournament Women's Basketball Team.

In the two games Southwestern competed in at the SCAC tournament, Leeder posted an impressive 18 points per game. This was a full point higher than any other female athlete named to the All-Tournament team. Leeder also had 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.5 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game. She was also the only member of the All-Tournement team to shoot 100% from the free throw line.

The Pirates beat host Birmingham Southern in the first round of the conference tournament with a 96-95 double overtime victory, the first in SCAC tournament history. This advanced the 'Bucs to their second straight semifinal appearance where they fell to Millsaps 63-55. Southwestern finished the season 15-12, posting back-to-back 15 win seasons for the third time in the SCAC era.

With all but one player returning next season, the Pirates look to advance to their first ever SCAC title game in 2013.
