SCAC Announces 2012 Women's Basketball Tournament Bracket

SUWANEE, Ga. - The SCAC office today announced the bracket for the 2012 women's basketball tournament, which will be begin Friday, Feb. 24 in Birmingham, Alabama.

Centre College, who is currently ranked in the Top 25 by two national polls, earned the top seed from the Eastern Division. The Colonels are ranked 21st by USA Today/ESPN and 24th nationally by D3hoops.com

Southwestern University earned the top seed from the Western Division.

With DePauw University, who won five of the last six SCAC women's basketball tournaments, no longer in the league, the SCAC is guaranteed to have a different champion for just the second time since 2006.

Friday's quarterfinal round will be played at Homewood High School (click here for directions to Homewood High School), while Saturday's semifinal games and Sunday's championship game will all be contested at Birmingham-Southern College.

6 p.m. CT - #1W Southwestern (11-5/14-11) vs. #4E Birmingham-Southern (9-7/14-11)
8 p.m. CT - #2E Millsaps (12-4/20-5) vs. #3W Trinity (7-9/9-16)  

Saturday - Semifinals at Birmingham-Southern College
5 p.m. CT - Winner #1E/#4W vs. Winner #2W/#3E
7 p.m. CT - Winner #1W/#4E vs. Winner #2E/#3W

Sunday - Finals at Birmingham-Southern College
2:30 p.m. CT - Winner 5 p.m. Semifinal vs. Winner 7 p.m. Semifinal
