GREENCASTLE, Ind. — Southwestern struggled early, scoring
just 11 first half points as DePauw never trailed in a 67-38
Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference victory over the Pirates.
Southwestern falls to 8-9 overall and 4-4 in the conference while
the Tigers improved to 14-3 overall and 7-1 in the SCAC with their
10th straight win.
DePauw scored the game's first six points on the way to a 29-11
halftime lead. They then opened the second half with a 9-0 run and
stretched the lead to 27.
Junior Shae Seagraves was the lone Pirate in double digits with 11
points as Southwestern shot just 26.7% from the floor. Senior Katie
Kern grabbed five rebounds as SU was out-rebounded 47-26.
Katie Mathews led the Tigers with 15, while Jenna Fernandez
followed with 10.
The Pirates remain on the road as they head to Danville, KY to take on Centre College on Saturday at 5:00 CST.
