Men's Cross Country Wraps Up Season at Regionals

MEMPHIS — The Southwestern University Pirates men's cross country team competed in the NCAA Division III South/Southeast Regional Championships hosted by Rhodes College, finishing 28th in the 36-team field with a score of 779. 

Noah Dennis led the Pirates with a time of 27:03.0, running a pace of 3:22.9 per kilometer, finishing 80th in a field of 239 runners who finished. C.P. Shaulis was the second Southwestern runner across the line, clocking in at 27:56.7 to finish 134th. 

Nathan Botros (165th) ran a 28:40.1, Doug Ginsberg (210th) finished at 30:18.5, Vincent Kim (213th) crossed the line at 30:28.9, Fred Banuelos (223rd) at 31:53.3, and Alijah Ontiveros (226) at 32:12.0. 

Emory won the event with a score of 41, paced by Jack Whetstone, the overall winner. Trinity University was the highest-placing SCAC team, finishing just outside the top 10 at No. 11 with a score of 339.
