Dennis Takes First in Pirates Invitational

GEORGETOWN, Texas -  The cold front that blew in Friday did not shake runner Noah Dennis, who finished in first place in the Southwestern University Cross Country Pirate Invitational home meet.

Dennis, who won first place in the Tornado Watch Invitational early this September, was able to get his second wind in the last pull to pass TAMU-Kingsville's Devin Robles to tack another first place win with a time of 28:42 in today's 8k.  CP Shaulis, who has been close to Dennis all season, came in third in the Pirate Invitational with a time of 29:08.

With the help of Nathan Botros (30:15),  Fred Banuelos (34:26), Doug Ginsberg (35:24) and Vincent Kim (35:48), the Pirates totaled a score of 37 points to win second place out of the teams who competed.

Ending their last race on a high note, the men now will prepare to compete in the  Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championships on Saturday, Nov. 4 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
