Men's Cross Country Finishes In The Top Half at NCAA Regional

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – The Southwestern University Pirates men's cross country team competed in the NCAA South/Southeast Regional Championships on Saturday morning, finishing 15th in a field of 33 with a total time of 2:21:25.82 for an average time of 28:17.17 in the 8K run.

John Hattan set the pace for Southwestern University as the lone Pirate in the top 50 of a field of 239, finishing 43rd with a time of 27:09.79. Josh Im followed with a time of 27:38.98 to finish 62nd. C.P. Shaulis (28:48.16) and Miles Griffin (28:49.85) finished 128th and 130th.

Austin Morrison finished 142nd with a time of 28:59.04, followed by Will Lord (29:25.73).

Rhodes College won the event with a total time of 2:11:02.45 for an average time of 26:12.49, placing three runners in the top 10 (fourth, seventh, and eighth). Conference rival Trinity University finished seventh with a time of 2:15:19.23 for an average of 27:03.85, placing one runner in the top 10 (ninth). Berea's Logan McKenzie had the fastest individual time (25:31.06)
