Pirates Place 4th Overall in Invitational

GEORGETOWN, Texas. - The Southwestern men's cross-country team placed 4th in the Our Lady of the Lake Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 8.

The Pirates actually came in 2nd among Division III teams, with Trinity University placing 1st in the Invitational.

The Southwestern team scored a total of 75 points and averaged as a team 2:22:06. Josh Im once again led the Pirates by placing 4th overall with 26:58.2 final time. John Hattan, who came in 10th for the meet, had a time of 27:58.3 and would be followed by Nathan Botros (28:55.7), C.P. Shaulis (28:57.0) and Miles Griffin (29:16.5). The only Division III schools to have athletes place in the top 25 were Trinity and Southwestern.

With early success in their season second meet, the Pirates next race will be Sept. 13 at the Rhodes Invitational in Memphis, Tenn.
