Southwestern Men Finish Fourth at SCAC Championships

SEGUIN, Texas - The Southwestern University men's cross country team scored 98 points on Saturday afternoon at the TLU Intramural Field to earn a fourth place finish at the 2017 SCAC Championships.

Trinity claimed the championship with 24 points followed by Colorado College with 45 points. Texas Lutheran was just ahead of the Pirates with 87 points while Dallas finished fifth with a total of 137 points.

Two Pirates earned All-SCAC honors as sophomore Joshua Im and junior John Hattan each finished in the top 14. Im took home an 11th place finish with a time of 26:35.2 while Hattan was 14th at 26:57.3.

Freshman Robert Lord was just outside the top 14 in 17th with a time of 27:06.4 while junior Lucas Ford was 26th with a time of 28:15.8.

Junior Austin Morrison wwas 30th with at 28:42.9 while sophomore Fred Banuelos was 37th at 31:42.1.

Southwestern will take two weeks off before returning to action on November 11th as they will compete at the South/Southeast Regional Championships in Newport News, Va.
