Southwestern Men Places Second at Home Event; Three Finish in Top 10

GEORGETOWN - The Southwestern University men's cross country team placed second at their home event, the Southwestern Invitational, with a total score of 39 on Friday evening at Berry Springs Park.

Jacksonville College won the event with 25 points while Concordia (TX) finished with 56 total points to place third. Schreiner rounded out the teams with a total score of 108.

Three-time SCAC Player of the Week Joshua Im continued his terrific year with a second place finish at a time of 17:13.6. Freshman Robert Lord was close behind with a fourth place finish at 17:27.5 while junior John Hattan placed eighth with a time of 18:18.0.

Junior Lucas Ford placed 12th with a time of 18:40.7 while junior Austin Morrison was right behind Ford in 13th with a time of 18:45.9. 

Rounding out the scorers was freshman Miles Griffin at 19:08.1 followed by sophomore Fred Banuelos with a time of 21:48.4.

This concludes the regular season for the Pirates and their next event will come on Saturday, October 28th as they compete in the SCAC Championships in Seguin, Texas.
