Pirate Men Place Fourth at ETBU Invitational

MARSHALL, Texas - The Southwestern University men's cross country team placed fourth with 93 points at the East Texas Baptist Invitational on Saturday morning at the Marshall City Arena.

Texas-Tyler won the event with 48 points followed by McMurry with 74 points and Texas-Dallas with 76. LeTourneau finished behind the Pirates with 93 total points in the morning.

Sophomore Joshua Im continued his terrific season with an eighth place finish in the 8k event, running 27:15.4 with an average mile of 5:29.8. Freshman Will Lord was also terrific, running 27:44.5 for a 14th place finish and a 5:35.6 average mile.

Junior John Hattan was next for the Pirates, running a time of 28:40.0. Freshman Miles Griffin ran a 28:49.3 while junior Austin Morrison ran a time of 29:50.5. 

Rounding out the runners for SU was junior Luke Ford with a time of 30:06.2 while sophomore Fred Banuelos ran a time of 35:31.4

Southwestern will return for their home event on Friday as they will host the Southwestern Invitational at Berry Springs Park beginning at 5:00 PM.
