LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Junior Alex Medrano was honored by the SCAC office Wednesday being named Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Medrano started his junior season in first place, as he pulled away from the field to finish with a time of 17:54.79 – almost a full minute better than the third place finisher. He is coming off an All-SCAC season that saw him finish in the top 15 five times during the 2013 season.
The Pirate men as a team placed behind cross-town rival Concordia in the 5k race at San Gabriel Park in Georgetown. Southwestern returns to action Saturday morning at the Texas Lutheran Invitational.
