Pirates Sweep SCAC Runner-of-the-Week Honors

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Lilly Duarte and Sam Martinez have been selected the SCAC Women's and Men's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week for meets run through Saturday, October 13.

Duarte, a junior from Streetman, Texas, ran a personal best of 18:53.72 for 5K at the Concordia Invitational on Saturday October 13. Duarte placed fifth overall (third among non-Division I and first of Division III competitors) in the event. She led the Pirate women to a 4th place finish among Non-D-I teams in the event.

Martinez, a senior from San Antonio, Texas, placed 10th overall (second among non-Division I and first among Division III athletes) at the Concordia Invitational 5K on Saturday October 13. Martinez's time of 16:16.38 led the Pirate men to a 4th place finish among non-D-I schools.

Next up for the Pirate men and women is the SCAC Championships held in Dallas, Texas on October 27th.
