Successful Weekend for Track & Field at Trinity Opener 
SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Both Southwestern men's and women's track and field broke some records and placed among Division II and III schools this weekend. 
 
On the men's team, John Hattan ran the men's 3000 Steeplechase, where he placed 2nd out of 11 overall with a time of 10:11:21. Robert Robuck qualified for the men's 100-meter run where he was able to place 11th out of 44 runners with a time of 11.27, with only two Division III runners coming in with better times. 
 
Devin Rosas was also very successful for the Pirates by placing 2nd in the men's high jump with a mark of 1.85m.  while this was not a career high for Rosas, he was able to reach a career high in long jump where he placed 4th overall marking 6.70m. 
 
For field competitors, Sam Grubs placed 5th overall in the men's hammer throw, marking at 42.29m. Grubs also placed 8th overall for men's shot put with a mark of 11.42m. 
 
For Southwestern women's track and field, Mallory Harkins did extremely week in the women's 400-meter run. Harkins placed 5th overall with a time of 1:04:08 and was the second Division III runner who placed in the top five. Right behind Harkins, Erica Robuck placed 6th in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:04:32. 
 
Hannah Bruce did well in both women's discus and hammer throw. Bruce placed 8th in discus, throwing 32.62m and throwing 39.29m in the hammer throw. 
 
Up next, men's and women's track and field will prepare to travel to Gulf Shores, Ala., to compete in the Small College Invite on Friday, March 22.
