Southwestern picks up 16 points in hammer throw on Friday

SEGUIN, Texas – The Southwestern men's track and field team sits in fourth place after six events at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships.

The Pirates picked up all 16 of their points in the hammer throw.

Tyler Adams led the way with a runner-up performance. Adams earned eight points with a heave of 39.93m.

Sam Grubbs finished in third place with a mark of 39.84m, while David Hill picked up two points in his fifth-place finish with a distance of 37.76m.

Trinity sits atop the team leaderboard with 75 points. The Tigers are followed by Texas Lutheran (66) and Colorado College (26).

The event is scheduled to resume on Saturday morning.
