Southwestern starts 2016 season at Trinity Open on Saturday

SAN ANTONIO – The Southwestern men's track and field squad began its 2016 outdoor season Saturday at the Trinity Open.

The Pirates were led by Tyler Adams, who finished 11th in the discus throw with a toss of 36.62m.

Southwestern's 4x100-meter relay team placed 13th with a mark of 45.79.

John Hattan led a group of five SU runners in the 1500m with a 29th-place finish after crossing the line with a time of 4:38.38.

The Pirates will return to action on Friday, March 4, at the Marc Randle Classic in Tyler.
