Taylor snags third consecutive pole vault title at SCAC Championship

Senior Cody Taylor won his third conference championship title in the pole vault, highlighting the 2015 SCAC Championship in San Antonio. Taylor cleared 3.95 meters to earn the title in the event.

Tyler Adams won his first SCAC title in the hammer throw, winning the event with a toss of41.34 meters. He also had a fourth place finish in the discus with a distance of 37.43 meters.

Jeremy Snyder finished second in the 38.71 meters in the javelin. Will Devine finished fourth in the shot put with a throw of 11.76 meters. Derek Harenda took sixth in the event (11.51 meters), Jesus Lucero 11th (9.48 meters), and Nathan Balke 12th (9.47 meters).

Milton Holmes had a seventh place finish in his first SCAC Championship appearance in the triple jump with a distance of 12.11 meters. Harenda finished seventh in the discus in 35.51 meters and Lucero 11th with a throw of 28.82 meters.

Alex Medrano had the best day on the track for the Pirates, taking second in the 10000 (36:35.95) and ninth in the 5000 (17:19.98). Abraham Devenport posted a top five finish of his own, taking fifth in the 10000 in 38:46.16.

Paden Williams finished in third in the 400 hurdles with a time of 58.77. Southwestern's 4x100 relay of Jonathan Kissner, Ryan Huiszoon, Milton Holmes and Kyle Castilleja posted a second place finish in 46.44 while the men's 4x400 relay (Huiszoon, Williams, Holmes, and Alex Riggs) took fourth in 3:36.39.
