Pirates Post Record Results

SAN MARCOS, Texas - The Men's and Women's Track and Field teams traveled to compete in the Texas State Open over the weekend and continued to post record results.

 

Paden Williams set a SU record in the 800m (1:57.20) for the second consecutive week.  He is currently listed at the top of the SCAC T&F Performance List.

 

Lilly Duarte placed 3rd overall in the 1500m (4:46.54) and shaved 5 seconds off her personal best in the event.  She was the only D-III athlete in the field of 21 competitors.

 

Lando Duarte, in his first race of the season and first ever open 400m, posted a time of 50.97.  The result places him at the top of the SCAC T&F Performance List in the event. 

 

Joe Sponsel clipped 20 seconds off of his personal record with a time of 10:31.63 in the 3000m Steeplechase.

 

In the 110m Hurdles, Daniel Tuttle (15.21) placed 5th overall and Alex Sheppard (16.45) posted his season best time.

 

Joey Quintero (11.24m), Owen Cassidy (10.75m), and Maya Adighibe (8.45m) all threw for personal records in the Shot Put.

 

The teams compete again at the Hardin-Simmons Invitational in Abilene, Texas, beginning on Friday, April 12th.
