SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Pirates opened their season on the road and got some top performances right out of the gate.

Cody Taylor tied for 2^nd overall and was the top collegian in the pole vault making the 4.00 meter height.  In the 110 meter hurdles, Daniel Tuttle posted a 15.28 good enough for 2^nd place and the top D-III time.  In his first 3000 meter steeplechase, Joe Sponsel ran well and finished with a time of 10:53.83.

On the women's side, Lilly Duarte finished 2^nd overall in the 1500 with a 4:55.68, just three seconds off her personal record.  Kara Koinis also ran a strong race and finished 6^th in the same event.

The Pirates next competition is at the UIW Invitational on March 1^st and 2^nd in San Antonio, Texas.
