ORLANDO — Southwestern men's tennis opened the day with a 9-0 victory over the Rhodes College Lynx in the first of two matches on the day.

Vesko Lekovic and Hemanshu Rambojun won an 8-7 victory over Daniel Trudell and David Phillips in No. 1 doubles. Next, Hunter Bajoit and Jared Burton defeated Ryan Crump and Gabe Williams 8-3 in the No. 2 spot. Finally, Oscar Roy and Carlos Esteban Rodero completed the sweep with an 8-2 victory over Justin Bobo and Owen Kohler.

"Vesko and Hemanshu didn't play their best match, but they played a really smart breaker and found a way to win," Southwestern head tennis coach Billy Porter says.

Bajoit carried the momentum over with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Trudell in No. 1 singles. Lekovic defeated Bobo in a three-set match, winning 2-6, 6-3, 10-5 in No. 2 singles. Anton Borovik won a pair of 6-4 sets to beat Williams at No. 3 singles. Steven Tibbetts earned a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Phillips at No. 4 singles, Roy won 6-2, 6-1 against Kohler at No. 5 singles, and Daniel Haley defeated Ryan Crump 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6 singles.

"Daniel played excellent tennis for us at No. 6 and put us on the brink after finishing first," Porter says. "Vesko and Anton both got much-needed wins, and while they didn't make it easy on themselves, they both dug deep and were able to problem solve enough to earn wins."

Southwestern improves to 4-4 with the victory and will play No. 21 Kenyon College at 6:00 p.m.
