Three Named to the Men's Tennis All-SCAC Team

Alexis Dimanche led three members of the Southwestern University Pirates men's tennis team named to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) All-SCAC team.

The junior from France finished second in the SCAC in votes with 53, including two first-place votes, finishing four votes behind SCAC Player of the Year Wilson Lambeth from Trinity University.

Individually, Dimanche finished 10-5 this season working exclusively from the No. 1 position, including a victory over No. 34 Redlands' Chase Lipscomb.

Hunter Bajoit, the first year from The Woodlands, Texas, was named the SCAC Men's Tennis Newcomer of the Year and finished fourth in voting with 34.

From the SCAC:

Bajoit, a freshman from The Woodlands, Texas, had an impressive inaugural campaign for the Pirates, advancing to the semifinals in the ITA Division III Southwest Men's Regional Championships in men's singles in September and earning a No. 47 national ranking. Bajoit went 18-4 at No. 2 singles and 14-9 at No. 1 doubles, which included wins over teams from Skidmore, Swarthmore and Redlands. The SCAC Player-of-the-Week in Week 3, Bajoit is the second Southwestern player to earn SCAC Newcomer-of-the-Year honors since the award was instituted prior to the 2014 season. Current teammate Alexis Dimanche took home the honor following the 2017 campaign.

Bajoit was the top choice on four ballots for Newcomer-of-the-Year with Austin College's Brett O'Brien picking up two first-place votes and Trinity's Cameron Krimbill receiving the remaining vote.

Teammate Alexander Joseph finished tied for seventh in votes with 26.  The junior from Colleyville, Texas finished the year 13-3, working exclusively from the No. 3 position in singles, including wins over No. 14 Swarthmore, No. 26 Skidmore, and No. 34 Redlands. He was also 14-4 in doubles, including 10-3 in the No. 2 position.

Dean Dulthummon was named Honorable Mention, earning 13 votes.

Southwestern finished the season 16-5 and was ranked No. 28 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) polls, achieving the highest ranking in program history. To see the entire 2019 Men's Tennis All-SCAC Team, click here.
