Men's Tennis Beats the Rain, Concordia

GEORGETOWN, Texas — The Southwestern University Pirates men's tennis team took care of its home court and then took care of business, defeating Concordia Texas 7-2 to remain undefeated.

Rain moved the match back, leaving the Pirates to tend to the courts to make them playable.

"After a rain delay and team-squeegeeing six courts, our men took care of business tonight," Assistant Coach Christine Miller said. "The way we got out of the gates and came out aggressive at the net was encouraging."

The Pirates swept through doubles, taking each match in straight sets.

"I think Alexander Joseph and Dean Dulthummon are a great combination together," Miller said after the duo defeated [insert] 8-4. "Our energy and enthusiasm were high on all three courts. I'm super proud of our men tonight."

The Pirates improve to 3-0 on the season, and will play at Schreiner tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. and then against Sul Ross State at 3:30 p.m.
