CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Grant Gideon and Nickoloz Snovely will begin play in the NCAA Championship Round of 16 at approximately 3:30 p.m. (CT) Thursday against Chicago's Erik Kerrigan and Ninan Kumar at The Champions Club Tennis Complex at Rivermont Park.

The Pirate duo qualified for the national tournament with a 19-4 record at No. 1 doubles. Gideon and Snovely have won eight of their last 10 matchups. The duo also helped Southwestern to its third consecutive appearance in the SCAC championship match last month.
Kerrigan and Kumar have logged a 16-8 record this spring between the top two positions. The duo is 9-7 at No. 1 doubles and 2-0 at the second spot.
The doubles bracket is single elimination and features two sets with a 10-point tiebreaker, if needed.
