LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Southwestern University senior Nickoloz Snovely was named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Snovely posted a 4-0 record last week while leading the Pirates (15-5) to two victories.

The Pearland native netted a pair of straight-sets wins at the top singles spot. He also teamed up with Grant Gideon for two victories at No. 1 doubles.

Snovely is 13-4 at No. 1 singles this spring, while he and Gideon have collected a 16-2 mark on the doubles courts.

The 34th-ranked Southwestern squad will travel to Abilene on Thursday for a contest against McMurry. First serve is scheduled for 5 p.m.
