Men’s tennis stays perfect at home

With a tough 5-4 win over Arizona Christian Wednesday, Southwestern men's tennis stayed perfect on their home court.

ACU took an early 2-1 lead after doubles play. Sam McCready and Oliver Farmen got the win in #3 doubles with a huge 8-0 win over Gross/West.

As singles action got underway the Pirates found themselves locked in a battle starting in #1 singles. Niko Snovely and Santiago Galeffi split the first two sets, but Snovely edged out Galeffi 10-7 in the tie breaker set to win 3-6, 6-0, 10-7.

Ayinde Hall fell in the #2 slot 6-2, 6-2 but Nick Farmen defeated Munquia 6-4, 6-0 in #3 and clinched the match at 4-4.

Grant Gideon was narrowly edged out 7-5, 6-3 in #4 singles, but the Pirates ran the rest of the table, winning the final two matches. Neik Kahnsari defeated Gross 6-1, 6-2 in #5 and McCready took down West 6-3, 6-3 at #6.

Southwestern, now 9-1 on the year, returns to the road to face Hardin Simmons and McMurry University on Friday in Abilene.
