Pirates fall at UMHB

BELTON, Texas – The Southwestern University fell 7-2 Friday afternoon at Mary Hardin-Baylor in men's college tennis action at the Yvonne Li Tennis Center.

The Pirates picked up an early point at No. 1 doubles as Niko Snovely and Derek Grass battled to a tough 8-6 win. The Crusaders took the final two doubles points sweeping an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles and earning an 8-1 win at the No. 2 position.

Snovely continued his winning ways as the rookie earned a 6-4, 6-7 win at No. 1 singles. He was responsible for the only two points the Pirates earned on Friday and moved to 9-1 on the season.

Alvaro Rojas continued to his solid play at the No. 5 singles position, but was unable to close out the win. Rojas fell 7-6, 6-3 to Jordan Jackson as UMHB picked up the win.

Southwestern continues action on Saturday as they host Schreiner at the Henderson Tennis Courts. Action is set to start at 11 a.m.
