Bergerson, Clarage Named to All-SCAC Team

In exclusive voting by the head coaches in the league, junior Alec Bergerson and senior Andy Clarage were selected to the 2013 Men's All-SCAC Tennis Team. First-year Sam McCready was also named in the report as an Honorable Mention pick.

Coaches voted for 10 players in rank order, with a first-place vote worth 10 points, a second-place vote worth nine points, on down to a 10th-place vote being worth one point. The top 10 players were named all-SCAC and any player beyond the top 10 that received votes were named honorable mention.

Bergerson went 6-5 on the year while competing in the #4 singles slot and finished the year on a three match win streak. In doubles play, Bergerson teamed up with Jonathan Sandoval in #3 doubles and finished the year with a 6-5 season record.

Clarage was 7-8 on the year in singles action in #1 and #2 singles this season and closed out the year on a three match win streak. Clarage went 3-3 in #2 doubles play with teammate Dax Collison.

McCready had a strong first season, going 9-6 in #3 singles and 5-9 in #1 doubles with teammate Egan Cornachione.

Southwestern captured a third place finish at the SCAC Championships after defeating Austin College 5-3 in the consolation match.
