Keith Gill Sets School Swim Record At Trinity Invitational

SAN ANTONIO – Keith Gill set a school record in the 100 Yard Freestyle and the Southwestern University Pirates men's swimming and diving team finished fifth in the nine-team Trinity University Invitational, scoring 310 points.

Gill set the school record with a time of 45.61 in the 100 Yard Freestyle, edging out University of Texas Permian Basin swimmer Nikita Naumov (46.43) to win the event. The Southwestern University sophomore also placed fourth in both the 50 Yard Freestyle (21.14) and 200 Yard Freestyle (1:42.52).

In the 200 Yard Medley Relay, Gill posted the fastest time of any team's anchor at 20.22, helping the Pirates place fifth in the event.

Alek Argueta finished seventh in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 58.97 and third in the 200 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 2:11.09.  Peter Robinson finished third in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:41.93. Dylan Neumann finished seventh in the 200 Yard Butterfly (1:58.87).

The men finished third in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay with the team of Mario Foltz, Neumann, Gill, and Robinson finishing with a time of 3:07.03.

In diving, Matthew Credeur finished sixth in the 1 Meter Dive with a score of 101.85. Eli Rios finished seven with a score of 89.25.

The men's next meet will be at home on Saturday, Jan. 19 against Trinity University.
