Pirates Maintain Second Place on Day Two of SCAC Championships

THE COLONY, Texas - The Southwestern University wmen's swimming team remained in second place after a successful Thursday afternoon on the second day of the 2018 SCAC Swimming and Diving Championships at the Lewisville Aquatic Center.

Trinity extended its lead to 352 while the Pirates sits in second with 249 points. Colorado College is third with 172 points while Centenary and Austin College round out the top five.

Senior Michael Glover was the big winner of the evening, winning the fastest race of the week as he edged out second, third, and fourth place by .04 seconds at 21.53 to take home gold. 

In the 500 free, freshman Matthew Oevermann placed second in the event with a time of 4:43.12.

It'll be a busy Friday for the Pirates with six events on tap including the 400 IM, the 100 fly, the 200 free, the 100 breast, the 100 back, and the 400 medley relay. Prelims begin at 10 AM with finals taking place at 6 PM.
