Pirate Men Knock Off Austin College on the Road

SHERMAN, Texas - The Southwestern University men's swimming team picked up a win over Austin College, 151-107, in a dual meet on the road on Saturday morning.

The Pirates were excellent in their relays, winning the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:39.94 led by the team of senior Michael Glover, freshman Alek Argueta, freshman Dylan Neumann, and freshman Mario Foltz. The 200 free relay team of Glover, Neumann, junior Peter Robinson, and freshman Caleb Liles won the event with a time of 1:30.53.

Freshman Matthew Oevermann won the 1000 free with a time of 10:32.29 while Neumann followed that up with a win in the 200 free with a time of 1:50.44. Senior Martin Martinez won the 200 fly at 2:06.69 while Liles was victorious in the 100 free at 49.83.

Robinson won the 200 back with a time of 2:00.81 while senior Mickey Scharbrough won the 200 breast at 2:20.89. Foltz wrapped up the first place finished with a time of 2:05.56 in the 200 IM.

The Pirates return to action on Friday as they head to San Antonio to compete at the Trinity Invitational. It will be a three day event.
