Silverman helps Southwestern to win over McMurry on Saturday

GEORGETOWN, Texas – The Southwestern men's swimming & diving squad rolled to a 164-92 victory over McMurry Saturday at Walzel Natatorium.

The Pirates earned 12 wins during the meet, including a victory in the 200-yard medley relay.

Phillip Silverman won both the 1- and 3-meter diving events.

Joshua Van Houtem was first to the wall in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:17.80. Mickey Scharbrough added a win in the 50-yard breaststroke and Matt Sluss won the 100-yard butterfly.

Southwestern will now turn its focus to preparing for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships, which will take place Feb. 10-13 in Lewisville.
