Pirates close day one in first place

After two events and diving the Southwestern men's team sits in first place by 14 points after day one at the SCAC Championships. The women had a strong day one outing as well, ending the day in second place behind Trinity, trailing by just 12 points.  

Southwestern's women's 200 medley opened the Championship and ended in third place with a time of 1:49.44 and the men followed by taking first place with a time of 1:33.56. 

The men's 1-meter diving commenced next and first-year Brandon Baccam finished in fourth overll with a 220.25 points. Garrett Holody took eighth overll with 173.75 points. 

To close the evening, the women's 800 free relay snagged second with a time of 7:59.61 and the men posted a second place finish as well in 6:54.85. Trinity took first in both events.
