Austin College no match for Pirates in the water

Southwestern easily defeated Austin College 125-54 on the men's side and 123-68 on the women's side.

The women opened the meet with a one-two finish in the 200 medley relay. The A team of Ryann Lawley, Taylor Adams, Blythe Nava and Marisa McCormack finished in 1:55.84 while the B-team of Natalie Lesnick, Sarah Hachar, Kenly Gaynor and Makaylee Frederick came in at 2:00.14.
The men matched the effort with a one-two finish of their own. The A team of Michael Glover, Mickey Scharbrough, Evan Jones, Simmon Belaineh finished in first with a time of 1:39.71 and the B team of Andy Seymour, Martin Martinez, Jason Shuler and Matt Sluss finished second in 1:43.48.
Ty Lapinski continued the win streak with a win in the 1000 free with a time of 10:26.09. Michael Glover won the 200 free in a time of 1:47.92 and Lucas Kahn the 50 free in 21.95.
Sluss had two first place finishes, taking gold in the 200 IM and 100 breast. Shelby Hall took first in the 100 fly, Scharbrough in the 100 free and Alex Villarreal in the 500 free. Dillon Glass snagged a first place finish in diving and the 400 free closed out the day for the men with a first place finish as well.
 

The women had a big day as well starting with Madison Doty taking first in the 200 free and 100 back. McCormack snagged first in the 50 free, Blythe Nava won the 100 free and Emmy Gradisar the 500 free. Kenly Gaynor brought home first in the 100 fly and Taylor Adams won the 100 breast. Abby Miller won 3-meter diving for the women and the 400 free relay closed out the day with a first place finish.

The Pirates hit the road for the first time this season as they head to Shreveport, LA to take on Centenary College on Saturday.
