Terrell named assistant swimming and diving coach

GEORGETOWN – Southwestern swimming and diving head coach Jon Duncan announced on Wednesday the appointment of Stephanie Terrell as assistant coach for the 2014-15 season.

Terrell joins the Pirate swimming and diving staff replacing Shea Davisson who was named the head swimming and diving coach at Olivet College in Michigan in June.

A native of Plano, Texas, Terrell was a record setting swimmer at Western Kentucky University where she set five school records in the 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke, 200 medley relay, 400 medley relay and 200 free relay.

She continued swimming after college at the master's level where she was a national champion in the 50 backstroke and 100 backstroke. Terrell also garnered Masters Pan Am Games Champion accolades in the 50 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 50 backstroke, 200 freestyle relay and 200 medley relay in 2013.

Most recently, Terrell was the head coach at South Florida Aquatic Club for the past year. She has also served as an assistant coach at the club level in Kentucky and Texas.

Terrell earned a bachelor of arts and a bachelor of fine arts from Western Kentucky in 2010. She is also currently pursuing her masters in athletic administration through Western Kentucky.
