Wood’s record weekend leads to SCAC honors

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Junior Kyler Wood earned his second SCAC Swimmer of the Week honor with his outstanding week seven performance as announced by the league office.

Wood broke two school records last weekend and earned a pair of NCAA B cuts at the UALR Christmas Invitational. Wood grabbed his first mark on Friday in the 100-yard breaststroke earning a fourth place finish. Wood swam to a time of 57.54 which broke the school record he set last season.

The Georgetown, Texas native grabbed his second school record on Saturday with a third place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke on Saturday. The junior finished with a time of 2:06.12 which also broke his own school record set last season and was his second NCAA B cut of the weekend.

The Pirates are off for the semester break and return to the pool January 11 in a dual at Incarnate Word University in San Antonio.
