Men’s Soccer Rallies in Double Over-Time Draw

DENVER, Colo. – The Southwestern Pirates women's soccer team found its mojo and swept the Schreiner Mountaineers in their first conference game by a score of 3-0.

Johnson & Wale's Emad Bashir-Mohammed made the first goal of the game, making the score 1-0 after the first nine minutes into the game. This score bled into the second half with the Pirates trailing behind. With five on goal attempts made in the first half, it was not until Dejan Savic was able to use a pass from Andrew Hernandez and score the goal need to send the game into an overtime.

In the first overtime period Hernandez was the only one on either team to take a shot on goal. With no goal made the second overtime period Alex Newell, Kip Karschnik, Luke Orren and Brendan Dauth would take shots trying to score the winning goal of the game.l But with time running out, the game would end in a tie against the Wildcats.  

Andrew Hernandez  had a total of four shots on goal while Kip Karschnik had a total of three shots on goal. Alex Newell, Luke Orren and  Amir Samiepour also each had two shots on goal for the Pirates. Goalie Alan Carr had a total of three saves.

The Southwestern Pirates will close their next weekend game out on Sunday afternoon aginst Colorado College at 12:00pm at Aurora Sports Park.
