Men's soccer handed second straight loss

ABILENE, Texas - For the second consecutive game Southwestern's potent offense was quieted as Hardin-Simmons defeated SU 2-0 Saturday afternoon.

The Pirates started well with two shots and two corner kicks in the first 15 minutes of action, but it was HSU that found the back of the net first. The Cowboys' Frane Vidosevic scored with less than two minutes remaining in the half to send Southwestern into the locker room down 1-0.

Southwestern outshot Hardin-Simmons 12-3 in the second half, but HSU made it a two goal advantage in the 85th minute to secure the win.

Southwestern (2-2) opens Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Tuesday evening, taking on Texas Lutheran University in Seguin.
