McCulloch Named as Character & Community Honoree

SUWANEE, Ga. - Colin McCulloch, a senior defender on the Pirates' men's soccer team, has been selected the SCAC Character & Community Male Student-Athlete-of-the-Week for the week ending November 20, 2011.

McCulloch, who hails from Suger Land, Texas, is not just a leader on the men's soccer team, serving as captain in his senior season, but has also been extensively involved in the community.

He has been a resident assistant and was promoted to head resident assistant this year, helping to build community wide programs and providing support to campus. 

McCulloch was a counselor at Pine Cove Christian Camp, mentoring eighth and ninth grade campers during the summer and served as the senior counselor this past summer. He is the president of Kappa Upsilon Chi and treasurer of Kappa Upsilon Chi and Psi Chi Psychology Honor Society at Southwestern, managing the budget and aiding in planning of various community service opportunities. 

McCulloch is also a two-year member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee for Southwestern, providing student led support for university athletics programs. He participated in Pirates on the Playground, a program in which athletes from the university attended recess at area public schools to mentor students.
