Southwestern University men's lacrosse senior attack/midfielder Jared Welsh had a career day against Hendrix University, helping the Pirates to a 16-7 victory.
Welsh set a career-high with eight points, scoring three goals and dishing out five assists on Sunday. He finished the weekend with 11 points, scoring three goals total on 14 shots with eight assists.
He was responsible for the Pirates' first five goals of the second half, scoring on an assist from Zac Asbury, setting up Benjamin Libby for two goals to end the third quarter, then setting up Asbury and scoring an unassisted goal to start the fourth.
Through three games this season, Welsh has 14 points, including five goals on 23 shots with 10 shots on goals and nine assists. The Pirates are 2-1 and will host Trine on March 4 at 7:00 p.m.
