Men's lacrosse seeking record season on final weekend

Men's lacrosse seeking record season on final weekend

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Southwestern is just one win away from tying the record for most wins in a season and have a chance to eclipse that mark on their final weekend with two games in Colorado.

The task will not be easy, however, as SU faces rival Colorado College (7-3) on Friday afternoon and Whittier College (6-3) on Saturday. Southwestern has never defeated Colorado College in 12 attempts but have been closing in on the win the last few years. Whittier and the Pirates faced off earlier this season and the Poets ripped the game from SU's grasp with a run late in the second half to win 11-10.

All three teams are seeking one of three coveted Pool B bids to the NCAA Tournament. Two wins would go a long way in pleading Southwestern's case. The importance of the weekend hasn't been lost on the lacrosse community either as the game was highlighted by Inside Lacrosse as the game to watch in the DIII Rundown.
