Pirates rout Eagles for 29-7 win

GEORGETOWN, Texas – Southwestern men's lacrosse set a new record for goals in a game in a 29-7 win over Northwestern (MN) on Tuesday evening.

After ending the first quarter tied 5-5, Southwestern outscored Northwestern 12-1 in the second quarter to take a commanding lead.

SU's defense was solid in the third quarter, holding the Eagles to without a goal which allowed the Pirates to extend their lead to 24-6.

Southwestern set new team records in points (50) and goals (29) in the lopsided win.

Matt Amerie posted five goals and four assists in the win while Spence Bodenhamer added four goals and five assists.

The Pirates improve to 5-3 on the year and remain at home to face Oneonta State on Thursday at 7 pm.
