Southwestern blasts MSOE for 20-3 lopsided win

GEORGETOWN, Texas – Milwaukee School of Engineering scored the opening goal of the night but Southwestern dominated from then on out to earn their fourth victory of the season.

A minute and a half into the game the Raiders scored their first goal, but it woke up the Pirates who then closed the quarter with five goals. Southwestern dominated the second quarter, outscoring MSOE 8-0 in the frame.

SU's 21 straight goals allowed the Pirates to take an insurmountable lead. Southwestern's defense was impenetrable as they held MSOE to just 23 shots and 15-22 in clears. The faceoff duo of Zane Abbott and Julian Quintero won 20 of 27 faceoffs on the night.

Spence Bodenhamer led with five goals and five assists while Matt Amerie added six goals and two assists and Kai Knight-Turcan posted four goals and three assists. Tanner Wallace paced the defense with four caused turnovers.

Southwestern (4-2) remains at home to battle Whittier on Sunday at noon.
