The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference announced the major awards and All-SCAC teams on Wednesday and Southwestern sophomore attacker Austin Fox was named Newcomer-of-the-Year. Four Pirates earned First Team All-SCAC honors and four were Honorable Mention selections.

Fox finished the season ranked second in the conference in goals scored (27), shots (82) and points (42) - only two behind teammate Jamie Long - and tied for fourth in assists (15) in just 13 games as he sat out the final three games due to injury. Long, Jeremy Tufnell, Daniel Ayala and Connor Smith all earned their first First Team All-SCAC selection this season. Long, a senior attacker, led the SCAC in goals (33) and points (50) this season and was second in assists (17).  Tufnell, a junior middie, scored 11 goals and posted six assists for 17 points this year. Defeners Ayala and Smith were huge on the defensive end of the field. Smith picked up 20 ground balls while Ayala picked up 46, third in the SCAC. Ayala also caused 24 turnovers this season to place him second in the conference.

Joining Fox on the Honorable Mention list were junior middie Tyler Downing, sophomore middie Jackson Timian and sophomore defender Ross Warkentin.

The Pirates ended the season with a 7-9 overall record, 3-2 in the SCAC, after falling to Colorado College in the SCAC Conference Tournament finals.
