Fourth Quarter Surge Hands Pirates Loss

GEORGETOWN, Texas - Southwestern men's lacrosse led until 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter and fell 10-9 to Misericordia on Wednesday evening.

Misericordia was first on the board just three minutes into the game and shocked the Pirates into action as SU scored five straight goals and took a three goal lead into halftime, 6-3. Austin Fox had a huge first half, recording three goals.

The Cougars turned things around in the second half and quickly bridged the gap, pulling within one goal, 8-7, by the end of the third quarter. Misericordia punched three goals into the back of the net, two man-up, to steal the lead and the win out of the Pirates' grasp.

Misericordia held a slight advantage in both shots (34-26) and turnovers (33-32) while the Pirates picked up 10 more ground balls 41-31. Long joined Fox with three goals in the loss.
