Greg Sigler

Greg Sigler

Greg Sigler was named the Southwestern Head Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach on July 15, 2015.

Sigler has guided the men’s team to three consecutive SCAC Championships from 2016-2018, and a fourth Championship in 2022 with four SCAC Tournament medalists during that span. Tyler Gammill won back-to-back titles in 2016 and 2017, followed by Cade Osgood in 2018. In 2022, Christian Rodriguez took home medalist honors for the Pirates. In Sigler's eight years at Southwestern, he has coached ten men's All-Region players. The men’s team has also made three NCAA Tournament appearances during Sigler’s tenure. He has overseen four All-Americans at Southwestern, including three-time All-American and 2018 SCAC Golfer of the Year Cade Osgood, 2022 SCAC Golfer of the Year and two-time All-American Honorable Mention Christian Rodriguez and All-American Honorable Mention selection Matthew Christl. In 2022 & 2023, Christian Rodriguez was selected as an individual to appear in the NCAA Tournament.

On the women’s side, Sigler led the Pirates to back-to-back SCAC Championships in 2018 and 2019, along with Southwestern's first women's SCAC tournament medalist Emily Campbell in 2019. In 2021, under Coach Sigler, the Pirates had their second SCAC tournament medalist in Madison Goldberg. The Pirates finished runners-up in conference in 2021, 2022 and 2023. He also led the women to the 2018 NCAA Championship, which was their eighth appearance since 2010.

During Sigler’s time at Southwestern, the Pirates have had two SCAC Women’s Golfer of the Year awards with Leilani McDaniel in 2019 and two-time All-Region selection Madison Goldberg in 2021. In 2023, Isabella Valenzuela won SCAC Women's Golfer Freshman of the Year

Sigler is four-time SCAC Men's Coach of the Year and a two time SCAC Women's Coach of the Year.

Before Southwestern, Sigler built the Concordia Tornados men's team into a regional powerhouse and national contender. He led Concordia to its first-ever top 25 national ranking and an NCAA Championships appearance in 2014. During that campaign, the Tornados captured three tournament titles while setting school records for both low-round and tournament performances.

Sigler also mentored the most decorated men's golf student-athlete in Concordia history, Jack Cersosimo, who became a two-time All-American. Cersosimo advanced to the 2015 NCAA Championships as an individual after he captured medalist honors at the American Southwest Conference (ASC) Championships.

The Concordia women's team also improved immensely under Sigler's direction. In each of the past three seasons, the Tornados set program records for low-round and tournament scores. During the 2013-14 campaign, he mentored a first-year student-athlete, Shelby Allen, who set the school record with a 71 in the Alamo City Classic opening round.

Sigler's students have been just as successful in the classroom. Over the past four years, 20 student-athletes were named to the ASC All-Academic Teams, while Cersosimo was named the league's Distinguished Scholar-Athlete three times.

Sigler competed collegiately at McMurry University, where he helped the squad to three conference championships. As a junior, Sigler earned medalist honors at the conference championships. He played professionally on the Prairie Tour, Longhorn Tour, Tight Lies Tour, and the Dakotas Tour following his collegiate career.

The Midland, Texas, native worked as an assistant golf professional at the Jimmy Ray/Roy Kizer Golf Course and Lakeway Golf Club in Austin and the Tribute Golf Club in The Colony. He also taught at the Austin Junior Golf Academy and Lakeway Golf Academy before joining the Concordia staff.

Sigler earned a BBA from McMurry in 1996.
