Christian Rodriguez In Second After First Round At Golfweek Invitational

DESTIN, Fla. — Southwestern men's golfer Christian Rodriguez opened the first day of the Golfweek Invitational with a performance the recent cool front in Georgetown could be proud of, playing the first round in the 60s to finish the day tied for second place. 

Rodriguez scored a 69 in the first round, making four birdies and 12 pars to pace the Pirates, who currently sit in 16th place with a combined score of 303. Austin Kelley followed with a 76, tied for 57th. Thomas Kuznar and Bryce Stiemert each had 79 to tie for 89th. Colin O'Hern scored a 90 to finish the day in 119th place. 

Emory leads the field, paced by Tony Li, who is tied with Rodriguez for second place. Averett University's Caleb Kimbrough leads the field with a 67.
